About the book
AMERICAN TUNE is a collection of stories bound together as a musical journey through a changing America. As in the song Me and Bobby McGee, the reader is travelling "From The Kentucky Coal Mine To The California Sun" - from the mining town of Harlan "in the deep rolling hills of eastern Kentucky" in the east to San Francisco and (Sittin' On) The Dock Of The Bay, in the west.
About the journey
The actual trip to the US to write, take pictures and interview artists and eyewitnesses will take place as two different journeys of three to four weeks, the first in the autumn of 2024 and the second sometime in 2025, meaning the book will be published in 2026.
